Pooler has gone from a highway town to the busiest corner of west Chatham in about two decades, spreading out around the airport and the Pooler Parkway. A large share of the people we see here did not grow up in Georgia — they arrived in the last few years, often from somewhere with a completely different plan market.
Local care
Outpatient campuses for both Savannah systems now sit in Pooler itself, but inpatient beds are still in Savannah: Memorial on Waters Avenue and St. Joseph's on Mercy Boulevard, each about twenty minutes down the Parkway.

What is different in Pooler
A permanent move into Chatham County gives you a Special Enrolment Period to pick a plan that is actually sold here, and it runs for a limited time around the move rather than forever. New Pooler residents routinely keep paying for a plan built around a network six hundred miles away because nobody told them the move itself was the opportunity.
Timing
Everyone gets the same windows. Which of them is the useful one depends on where you live and what you already have.
Tell Medicare before you move and the window opens the month before; tell them afterwards and you generally have that month plus two more. Either way it is finite, and in a town of new arrivals it is the single most-missed window we see.
The safety net if the move window closes. Chatham's plan list is long enough that most people can find a good answer in the autumn even if they missed the earlier chance.
